urgent***urgent***urgent

I am feeling so absolutely heartsick today!

Two precious and amazing children whom I met in Hasya's orphanage have run out of time to find their families...again!

This is Penny.

Beautiful, sweet and tender Penny.

And this is the SECOND TIME Penny has not been chosen!

She ran out of time to find a family while I was there visiting my Hasya.  I specifically asked for permission to see her and get updated pictures of her because I believed with all my heart that someone would step forward and finally say yes to this beautiful girl!

But no one has!

Her file has once again been returned to the government in her country with the unspoken message that says, "No one wants this child!"

Seriously!  How can it be?  How can she be fortunate enough to be given a second chance at being FOUND...and be rejected again?

The whole thing just makes me weep!

This tiny little lovie has spent eleven years in the confines of a crib!  She was given HOPE the day someone listed her for international adoption.

I cannot help but feel that we, the Church, have failed her!

Like I have failed her.

And then there's Theodore.

This boy is so charming and so delightful that I could have run out of there with him in my arms.  He is beyond precious!

He is absolutely gorgeous!

A very little, desperately malnourished ten-year-old boy, with so much potential to grow and learn and become ALL whom God has created him to be.

A little boy who, by the grace of God, can still find a reason to laugh and smile...despite the miserable life he has endured for too many years.

He is so in there!  He has CP which only affects his lower body. With the help of physical therapy I believe that he will learn to walk.  An awful institutionalized life has robbed this boy of his full potential.

And sadly, we said, "No thanks."

"Not this one!"

Once the files of these two precious children are returned, they lose their voice!  They are removed from all advocacy websites and will be nothing more than a name on a list in a government office in their country.

Unless we rally like crazy for them NOW--trusting and believing that they WILL be found--they have very little chance of ever knowing the love of a family!

Would you please, please share wherever you possible can?

I am aching for them!

I KNOW where they are!

I have seen with my own eyes how painfully thin they are and how desperately they need nurturing, nutrition, and medical attention.

I KNOW the conditions they live in--it is beyond awful!

Please don't let them stay there!  I have to believe that Penny and Theodore WILL be rescued.

Because knowing their life should they NOT be chosen is just too much for my heart to comprehend.

Anyone wanting more information about adopting either one of these children can contact Shelley at shele337@gmail.com.

Oh how sad and heartbreaking! I am praying for them now! Please dear Jesus move on their behalf and raise up a family to say yes to them. Provide all the needed finances and bring them home quickly! In Jesus name amen.

Adeye, thank you so much for this post!!

The first SIX of the children from Pleven in the following blog post are having their files sent back on Sunday:  http://theblessingofverity.com/2012/10/further-up-and-further-in/  PLEASE, dear friend, advocate for all of them?

Penny's file was already sent back almost two months ago, and will hopefully be requested again soon.  Praise God!

I am praying fervently with you for families for all the "unadoptable" children!  We know that they are priceless to God and will be blessings to their families!

Adeye, I see that Theodore has an adoption grant set up on Reece's Rainbow (http://reecesrainbow.org/?s=theodore) but I don't see one for Penny.  Does she have a fund set up anywhere that people can donate to?

Unfortunately Penny's file has already been returned to Bulgaria.  She is no longer listed.

Susanna and/or Adeye -- What exactly are the implications that their files have been returned? I can see that one is that they can no longer be listed on Reece's Rainbow and have adoption grants, but are there others? Are they still adoptable and what would be involved to request their files? I just can't believe that there aren't families for these children.

Elizabeth, it means that they are again invisible except for those of us who continue to advocate for them.  No agency holds their file after they have been returned, but they must be requested by a Bulgarian agency and there is a wait involved with that.

It also means that the message is sent back to Bulgaria that the children are not wanted.  :(To request their files after they have been returned, you could contact Andrea Roberts at andrea @ reecesrainbow.org, and she will tell you about your options for agencies.  Our family is using, and would recommend, the same agency that the Salems are using.  There is another option for a US agency that Andrea could tell you about, or I would be happy to answer questions about, since we used them for Katie's adoption. :)

Adeye, you don't know me one bit, but I check your blog regularly as I know that Jesus has called us to adopt an orphan with special needs one day and am waiting for Him to say GO! He is using what you write to prepare my heart. Anyhow, a few nights ago I had a dream about Hasya and felt I should share it with you. In the dream Hasya slept/lived on top of a deep freezer in a garage with no blankets. She looked skinny and frail and sad. I picked her up and carried her around with me as I interacted with whoever was in the back yard and around the house. I just loved her and cuddled her and enjoyed her. And then I finally put her back on the deep freezer, but when I did, she had blankets to make it soft. Her face and body looked nourished and fuller. Her hair was growing, soft and beautiful, and she had a peaceful smile on her face. She was alive and being healed. I wonder if Jesus gave me that dream to encourage you that though your time with Hasya seemed so short, so insufficient, it did make an eternal impact. Hasya is already changed by receiving the love of the Father through you. And that though you had to put her back and leave her in a horribly unsuitable environment, she isn't the same. That deposit of love she received from you is working its beauty and growing in her little heart. Bless you today Adeye with all the grace from our Jesus that you need to Sustain you and more!
