~~ I've been loving the beautiful fall weather we're having. I do LOVE fall on the east coast.
~~ Rejoicing that very soon Wade and Yuri (Bohdi) will have a family. Oh my goodness, their family is so close. I can hardly wait to see two more children out of Hailee's room in the orphanage. Hallelujah.
~~ Dejunking. I've been driving around for two weeks with a boot (aka a trunk) full of stuff. Dropping it off is somehow never a priority.
~~ I've been having my heart changed from the inside out by some of the incredible books we've been reading.
~~ So thankful for my husband and that the Lord has blessed us with a happy marriage. I am so grateful for a man who chooses to see the best in me, and looks past all my flaws and many imperfections. I found a treasure, that's for sure.
~~ Seeking God on how to live a purposeful life--forgetting the things that are so darn trivial in this life and only focusing on what truly matters to Him.
~~ Pondering how we as the Church tend to water down the Gospel. Believing what the Bible says and appropriating it in my life is serious business--not to be taken lightly. I never want to forget that.
~~ Love thy neighbor. Love thy neighbor. Love thy neighbor. Even when they don't love us back.
~~ Desiring to have such a hunger for God's Word.
~~ Trying to find contentment in a small house for our large family. When I feel so cramped, all I need to do is think about the mama in Uganda who lives [happily] in one room with her six children, and everything falls into perspective. I am blessed indeed.
~~ I've been heart sore at how some people feel that it is their right and responsibility to rip bloggers (not me) to shreds. I just don't get mean people. Do they seriously have nothing better to do with their days?
~~ Trusting the Lord to lead and guide our steps as we seek His will regarding our future. We don't want to run ahead of Him, but neither do we want fear or our own desires to stand in the way of fulfilling His plans and purposes for our lives.
~~ Looking so forward to skyping with my family in South Africa. Oh how I miss them.
~~ Wondering how in the world the pantry gets empty so fast. Where does all the food go?
~~ Dreaming about starting a vegetable garden. I am the worlds worst gardener. I never inherited my mothers green thumb.
~~ Loving vision forum and wanting to buy a whole lot of their books.
~~ Thinking that I really do need to give my lonely facebook a bit more attention. I pretty much accept people's invitations to be friends, and that's where it ends. I'll get to you eventually, lonely facebook.
~~ Wondering if I will ever step into 2010 and upgrade my cell phone to the kind that you can get online with. I'm still so like 1999.
~~ I hate Halloween!
~~ Love, love, loving my beautiful blue eyed boy. My angel with a heart of gold. Don't tell him I said he was beautiful...that's a no-no for a big boy growing up.

17 sweet thoughts from friends:
My boys have been drooling over the new Vision Forum magazine. Ok...me, too!
Love this list!
I hate halloween too! May we both survive... ;)
Happy Tuesday!
Love this post!
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't have a cell phone to get online with! I recently upgraded but just couldn't justify spending the extra $$ each month just so I could spend more time online. So I have a plain-jane phone that I really do love and am so thankful for! But I do text. A lot!
Love your heart!
I use a little pre-paid (now expired) cell phone and have it with me when I go any distance in my car. Only for an emergency. So, I guess I'm so 1977!
I am curious about the blog thingy?? giveaway you wrote about awhile back. The "Header" is what I'm talking about. I don't know if I somehow missed out on that. I really like the header Anthony did for Julias' family! Nice Job, Anthony!
I am loving Fall, too and also dislike halloween..well with the exception of it being my baby sisters birthday!
Hugs to ALL of the wonderful Salem family! Jo
P.S. Looking forward to seeing you on Facebook!
Wow! I can relate to this list. I have a trunk full of donation items. I hate halloween. And I'd like to spend my life savings on Vision Forum books. Oh, and I have a few beautiful boys of my own.
These days...I will join you in trusting the Lord with His plans for you and Anthony. I know He will use you mightily no matter what the 'calling' ends up being!
Oh, I too have a dinosaur phone but I hate change so I'm not willing to switch to the newest Gazamoo 5000 model yet!
It's fun to see what you're up to! (And I hate Halloween, too! Our girls, who are 15 and we adopted from Ukraine last year, want to celebrate it, even though we have explained that God hates it. I hope we survive it this year, too.)
Thank you for saying that you HATE Halloween! I hate it as well, and SO many Christians make up excuses for why it is okay for them to celebrate a holiday that glorifies Satan.
I was listening to a Christian radio program yesterday and an atheist was being interviewed. He said that he will never be a Christian because they are such hypocrites. One of his examples was that we say we worship Jesus and we supposedly don't celebrate Halloween, but our churches host "fall festivals" on Halloween weekend. What kind of joke is that? Any good atheist can see right through it! Why are we Christians so blinded?
Did you see that Yuri and Wade have families going for them?

Hi Adeye,
I simply want to ask you to pray for me and my family. My husband's family stalks our blog looking for anything that they can use to turn the rest of his family against us. I quit blogging because it hurt my heart to think of them reading anything about my precious daughter they refer to as a "liability", among other names. Please pray for us to find peace about this situation. Thank you,
Renee Tam

Just wanted to say that I think you ROCK. Love your heart, love your realness and am so thankful for people like YOU. Learned that I was a victim to one of those blog ripping parties. Kind of stung, but at the same time, I guess I shouldn't be surprised- the bible tells us to expect to be persecuted... Yet I still find it sad that people feel the need to say hateful things when they really don't even know someone. Anyway- just wanted to say you are a breath of fresh air- and I love the way you live to be more like Him.
You have such a beautiful family!! I have a bio son with ds who I love dearly. Me and my husband are trying to have a brother and sibling... but it doesnt quite go our way.. We are now talking about the idea of adopting a child whith downs syndrome or other special needs. Maybe thats our call :). I have felt that in my heart for many years, long before I got my son.
We´ll just see what gods plans for us are :)
Just wanted to say how incredibly inspiring your blog is. I put a link on my fb page to inspire others.. hope you dont mind. More people should know that all children are a blessing <3. /Helena
Just a couple thoughts there dear lady....
First to Jo and her cell phone comment - more like 1995 - in 1977 the battery for that phone would have been the size of a car! :)
Thanks for loving Anthony as you do - and at the risk of putting words in his mouth (something I try to never do) I feel pretty comfortable saying that he feels about you excatly like you do about him - you guys really are a match and your relationship shows it!
Your neighbor mantra is ours too....
And finally - couldn't agree with you more - mean people just suck. But there is one group that are worse - those that harm children suck absolutely!
Thanks for you guys all just being YOU!
hugs - aus and co.
Just some general knowledge for those of you who have an issue with Halloween. Our modern concept of Halloween originated with the Celtic festival of "Samhain." The Celts were pagans, and if you understand anything about religion, you know that pagans are not satanists. :) They did not worship Satan during their festival. ;) I would encourage all of you to please do your own, UNBIASED research on the topic, instead of just listening to your Sunday school "teacher" or whoever without making your own informed decision. Don't mean to be harsh, I just hate when people automatically jump on the "SATAN'S HOLIDAY!!!" bandwagon.
We LOVE Vision Forum too! Doug Phillips spoke at our homeschool conference and was so encouraging! Our boys have all sorts of things picked out that they would love to have from the catalog as well! I love there books... I just ordered a new one that I am really excited about actually.
Thanking God with you for things like Skype that can bring us so much closer to those we love who are so very far away!
Praying for you and your sweet family this morning.
Blessigns,
gayly
Thanks Adeye
I just sent you an email! What a special blessing to be chosen as the winner of your give-a-way!
