a rockin' giveaway

So. Do you remember the photo shoot Harper and I did recently?

My little supermodel.

We did the shoot for my friend, Kathryn.  She has recently taken over the fabulously amazing...

Rockin' Baby Slings.

If you know baby slings--you know the Rockin' kind.

Pretty cool, huh?

From one baby wearin' mama, let me tell you that these slings are awesome.  Kathryn is one seriously talented girl.  Not only has she taken over the business, but she has totally changed things around, as only she can do it.  She has put her personal touch on her new venture--and it is coming together wonderfully. Stunning new fabrics to choose from, a great blog to keep up with her busy life as a mom of four young children (two through adoption), and an amazing new website (to be launched next month).  Busy, busy.

This is Kathryn (wearing my most favorite sling in the world) and her youngest sweetie pie, Liesl.

You know what is so amazing about my friend's business?  She's not just in it for the sake of having a business.  Nope.  She's in to bring about CHANGE. To change the lives of women just like us.  One at a time. With her heart for the nations, and for the many mothers who live in desperate situations, Kathryn has come up with a business model that will GIVE BACK to those less fortunate.

Rockin Baby is partnering with two humanitarian groups in Haiti.  Midwives for Haiti and Heartline Hospital Women's Program. Both work hard to improve the lives of mothers in a country which is still trying to rise from the ashes after the devastating earthquakes just one year ago.

For each and every sling or pouch that we purchase, Rockin Baby will donate a sling to a mother in need of the benefits of wearing one.  The donations will begin in Haiti, where mothers do not sling their babies.  The infant mortality rate in the poorer areas of Haiti is 50%; 1 out of 2 babies die by the age of one.  Can you even imagine?   The slings that are donated will be distributed by midwives to educate the women in how to wear their babies, breastfeed them, and keep them close.

Rockin Baby will change lives with these donations and mothers will be affecting mothers in a positive way.

I love that.  Just by wearing our babies, we get to change the life of another mother AND her baby.  It's a beautiful thing.

(Tell your hubby he can wear it too.)

Women so much less fortunate than us get blessed by our purchases.  Giving back is truly what it's all about.  Trying to make a difference in the world--one person at a time.  That's what it's all about.

The new Rockin Baby website will be launched next month.  It is going to be stunning.  In the meantime, the old website is still up and running.

Here's where to fun starts.  Don't you just love a great giveaway?

Rockin Baby would love to be a blessing to one of YOU.  Wouldn't you love a new sling or pouch to carry your angel in?  Or do you know of someone who would be blessed by one?

Well, here's your chance.

One reader will be able to pick any sling or pouch off the website.  The choice of color and design is yours.  Heck, you can even have the fancy organic type if that's what your heart desires.  A new sling worth almost $80 will be on its way to one of you, my lovely blog readers.

These slings are so stylish and comforable.  Gone are the days when our only option for carrying our little ones around was in a boring stroller (or in arms that feel like they are about to fall off).  Uh-uh...now we get to look trendy and hip while wearing our babes. Not to mention the amazing benefits of keeping our wee ones close.  I absolutely love wearing my babies.

Sound wonderful?  I think so too.  There are so many gorgeous colors and patterns.  Something for every chic, baby-wearing mommy.

Would you love a glam new sling?  Or do you know of a mommy who would?

It's so simple to enter.

Just leave a comment right here on my blog.  Any comment.

You have until midnight on Sunday to enter.

Help become part of the movement as it takes off the ground! Stay tuned for the February 15th big relaunch on the Facebook page and Twitter right here.  Please help Rockin Baby spread the word about how we can all help the mothers of Haiti.

Rock on!

Hello- I am a friend of Andreas, supporter of RR (donate as often as I can) and follower of your blog, your children are beautiful, especially the two angels with DS. My son, Joshua, is 5 years old, with DS. I have seen your amazing heart, and your ability to raise up others to donate and help out. I follow many blogs and donate as often as I can. I SO badly want to adopt a little girl, but my husband is not where I am.. I can not convince him no matter what I do or say.. so I pray and help financilly other families as often as I can.. this one family has been on my heart, their blog address below... they are adopting Ivy and Rose, this will be their first adoption and first children.. they are amazing and I so badly want to see them get the funds they need.. They are under the "almost there" category on RR. would you be willing to help them and post a plea on your blog? I have seen how people have donated when you have stepped into to help before, it is a GOD thing for sure!!
There blog address is below.

How exciting to see this business bloom - and supporting a charity dear to my heart - Heartline Womens' Program in Haiti! Keep up the great work!

I am currently 7 months pregnant with a surrogate baby for a wonderful mother from Norway... what a treat it would be to win such a beautiful item to gift for their newborn son!

Anonymous said...

Just a word of caution...these slings can be potentially dangerous for newborn babies. If you use a sling with a newborn please constantly monitor the position of the baby and the baby's breathing and appearance (color). Consider the size and muscle tone of your baby. They should be able to hold their head in an upright position. Last year a 7 day old healthy baby in Oregon died while his mom carried him in a sling while shopping at Costco, resulting in a lawsuit to the sling manufacturer. Please be cautioned for the safety of the tiny ones!!
PS, Love your blog and your awesome family!!
