We got the call today!

My application for expedited FBI clearance was approved today.  The board in Nebraska decided it was a worthy enough case.  One huge step forward.

Now our Congressman is going back to USCIS (Immigration) and is requesting that the next stage in the process also be rushed.   That would be the interview and dreaded test I have to take.

I love this.  For the interview, they need to know that I can:

~~  “Speak proper English…simple words and phrases in ordinary usage.”
~~  “Be able to read one out of three sentences correctly to demonstrate an ability to read in English.”

Um, yeah, I think I’ve got that part covered.

The history test?  Oh heck.  Well,  let’s see-that would be a definite no!  I do not have that covered.  I seriously need some help in that area.  I have a book to study.   Oh my word-best I get started.

Every step of the way to my becoming an American citizen, we have an amazing Congessman with awesome staff fighting on our behalf, doing everything they can to help.  I can hardly wait for the day when Hailee is home, and we can take her into their office to show them the fruit of all their efforts.  We are so thankful.

We’re trusting in faith that the interview comes quickly. God never ceases to amaze me.  Ever!

That’s wonderful news!! You will do fine in the interview. Yeah, I think you’ve got English down…your writing is better than most American’s! Seriously.

As far as the history test…do you know exactly what they will ask you?? I’m sure it’s just basic stuff. American history is really very interesting (well, I didn’t think so when I learned it in school but now that I’m teaching it to my kids, it is). You may find yourself wanting to read more and more.

    Adeye,
    Great news!
Why don’t you send them your blog websight and see how they judge your mastery of the English language:0) As for history, get the Schoolhouse Rock cartoons on VHS or DVD. Everything I have learned that has stuck with me came from those televised videos I watched as a kid:)
    GO GIRL!

ps-I have been meaning to ask you..do you speak with an accent?

    you know what Adeye?
I’ll bet than an embarrassingly LARGE percentage of natural born American citizens couldn’t pass the history test. I’m just sayin!

WOOHOO!!!! Thank you, Jesus!!!! What awesome news! :) I have totally loved watching Him write Hailee’s story. She has touched so many hearts and she doesn’t even know that. :)

  12. says

Oh I’m so glad. Now go study!! Haha! One sentence our of three…”your honor, I would like to present….my blog!” (I didn’t even spell sentence right!)

Hey, I wouldn’t probably even pass a citizen test, so I’m praying for you! Just wish Beijing was somewhere close to Hailee!

  13. says

This is just the most wonderful news! I am overjoyed!

You know, I wonder if I could pass the history test? :) Kind of like a drivers test, once you are legal to drive it is still really hard to pass teh written test! ;)
