transforming

Three months ago I met an angel in a Ukranian orphanage.  Sad, thin, drugged, and living in conditions my heart could not comprehend-she was diamond in the rough, a treasure just waiting to be found.
Home for just six weeks now-she is transforming before our eyes.
Look what love can do…
Blossoming

Changing

Growing

Learning

Thriving

Sparkling

Belonging

The change in Hailee continues to astound us.  There is hope for EVERY SINGLE child.

~~~~~
Thank you for your prayers for Anthony.  Today has been wonderful.  He is home and feeling so much better.  The doctors found an antibiotic that is working well.  We’re so thankful. Thank you for encouraging my heart too.  I am so thankful that you choose to journey here with me-through my ups, and my downs.  How blessed I am.
    Yes ! Amazing isn’t it. She does not even look like the same child. I am amazed very time I look at our little one. She also has changed so much in the 6 months since she has been home. I know people probably get so tired of me talking about the change, but it is such an astounding difference. I see so many similarities in your story. Thank you for sharing and encouraging me. Kathy
    she looks so much older and healthier than she did in the beginning… Praise the Lord… her story is absolutely breathtaking already! I can’t wait to see her strides a year from now!
  3. says
    She looks great! She is filling out and her hair has grown so much. I really enjoy reading your story - I get so excited when I see you have a new post. Question (if I may)….you mentioned in a previous post about children with Downs and their tongues not always being in their mouths. I seem to notice in more of the pictures since you’ve been home that isn’t the case as often. Is this just chance or is it also a sign of their improved care/muscle tone, etc? Again I thank you for sharing your story and your faith. What a blessing you are to so many!
    Be still my heart…….these pictures bring happy tears to my eyes! Her little cheeks are chubby, her eyes alert and she is such a miracle! God bless all of your family for giving her a chance at living and hope!
    OH. MY. WOW. That just brought tears to my eyes to see that transformation! It makes me look at those “worse” kids on Reece’s Rainbow in a different light. Although, I’m not adopting anytime soon I still search the website. And I find myself looking at the healthier babies. The ones that seem to “fit in” better. Wow, how this had changed my perspective. Thank you soooooo much for sharing. What a MIRACLE that baby girl is. And what a testimony she has. So amazing.
    Amazing! Hailee looks like a different child. Love has truly transformed her!!It’s wonderful, that because of your obedience, sweet Hailee now has a life filled with love, laughter and family…a life where she is valued and able to be who God created her to be.     Weeping, tears of insperation. Oh how I long to adopt one of the beautiful children from “that room” I just need to get my husband on board..I am working on him, he is starting to understand we need to do this. So for now I keep praying, praying god will speak to him.
    Thank you for sharing!
    Adeye,
    OH MY GOODNESS! She looks absolutely wonderful. Thank you for posting this. I knew she would blossom and do great once you got her home but honestly I did not think it would happen this fast. I am so thankful that you got her home.
    Does she and Harper play together a lot?
    I pray that God will find a home for the ones you left behind. My heart breaks that any child lives like that. I know that God will help them find loving Mommy and Daddy’s just as he did for Hailee and Harper.
    Sorry to hear Anthony is sick but glad to hear that he is doing better. I hope he is home with you and the kids very soon.
    Love,
    Sheila
    GASP! What an outward picture of how Christ transforms us COMPLETELY on the inside. And this sweet girly gets to experience both!!
    I’m amazed…AMAZED at how her eyes sparkle now, her hair has a luster to it, her skin is bright, and she’s got a sweet layer of baby fat going on. It makes my heart leap for joy at what God can do and the TRUE HOPE He brings.
    I’m in complete awe of His love for us.
  21. says
    thank you for sharing beautiful pictures of Hailee, I am praying that her legs may be strengthened so she can join Harper in standing up and walking too :) I’m sure that when this happens, she’ll be learning a lot more being inquisitive and going where she wants, keeping you all on your toes
    So glad to hear that Anthony is doing well. HalleluYah!!! You are a wonderful team and I loved reading about your faith and commitment to our Saviour. Our lives can be lived only once, and you’re using all the opportunity to live for Him, which is so wonderful to read about. Thank you for including us and showing how it can be done. :) :)
    Absolutly BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I just love to see those chubby rolls starting to form. God is so amazing, thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. My heart has been changed for every orphan. Who ever God sets before us I will welcome with loving arms.
  24. says
    Love it and can’t get enough of it!!! Thank you so much for sharing her with us. You are such an encouragement to those who follow your blog!!! It amazing because her Down Syndrome characteristics are so mild. It is as if you really have to look for them to notice. Saddens me even more for her because it has only been because of her environment that she has suffered so much in such a short time. Thank you Jesus for this family coming to her rescue.
    a friend of mine introduced me to your blog, and i now read it faithfully. i work nights as a hospice nurse, and always look forward to down time when i can pull up your blog. our family is in the process of adopting an hiv+ child from ethiopia, and we are open to other special needs. your heart for orphans, and specifically for those with special needs, is so right on. thank you for being such a strong, passionate voice for those who have none in this world. your words and pictures so clearly capture the preciousness in every child that God has created so uniquely. thank you for your faithfulness….what an encouragement it is to me and to so many others!
    Thank you for sharing. Needed this tonight. I am on an emotional roller coaster as of late. The back and forth of “What have we committed to do?” - as well as feeling as though the fundraising is an issue. Don’t want it to be the focus, and yet it is necessary. (maybe it’s not, and I’m just not being faithful enough?)
    Anyhow, thank you… needed this. Needed to see the “transformation” to restore my hope for Ivanna’s transformation…
    Precious, favored little Angel. She is filling out and beautiful. I know you mentioned both Girls have heart issues. Have you learned if either are going to need surgery? I too, have had a little one home from Ukraine for five weeks today. I am amazed at his transformation. He is 3.5 YO and did/does not speak words. He has now found his “voice” and is making noises that a baby makes prior to speaking. Every child DOES have poetential!
