I am

~~~  Standing, trusting, and waiting on the Lord.  Waiting impatiently most of the time.  I have so much to learn about that waiting patiently thing.  I fail the test horribly.
~~~  Cold! Wake me up when it's spring.

~~~  Loving that so many of you are seeking God on where to make a difference in this life.  I was so touched reading your comments on my last post about what God is doing in your own hearts.  He sure is moving and shaking the church.  I don't want to miss out. I want to be right there in the middle of where He is moving.  I know many of you do too.  As my hubby wrote on the little chalkboard we have in our dining room today, "Aslan is on the move."  Yes, he sure is.
~~~  Feeling so blessed.  I have so much more than most of the world's population.  What right do I have to complain about one single thing?  None.

~~~  Looking forward to getting my camera back tomorrow so that I can once again post pics of my lovies.
~~~  Heartbroken about all the tragedy everywhere.  Yet, in the midst of it all...my God is a GOOD God!

~~~  I wanted to clarify something based on some of the comments I got.  Our issues with mean people that I mentioned here has nothing to do with my blog.  Yeah, I do get a handful of meanies who come by, but I just ignore them.  I delete their comments faster than I can take their words to heart. For the most part the people who share with me here are amazing--and for that I am so very thankful.
~~~  So thankful for the many, many children who have found families recently.  We rejoice.

~~~  Wondering if my kids are learning anything at all in homeschool--or am I turning them into complete idiots?  Does every homeschooling mother wonder if she is doing enough?  Too much?  Too little? I have no idea.
~~~  I cannot get enough of PB&J these days.  Seriously, it is the weirdest thing ever.  For almost 39 years the stuff almost made me throw up.  Now, I'm addicted.  And no, I'm not pregnant...knew you were wondering.

~~~  We have noticed in the last few days that Hailee is becoming a lot more playful with us.  So amazing.  What a new creation in Christ she is.  I will do a post on her development and milestones soon--I just need my camera 'cause a post about Hailee without pics would just not be the same.  Goodness gracious but she is such a beauty.  I cannot get enough of our littlest love.
~~~  Thinking that Down syndrome is perfect in every way imaginable.  Absolutely fabulous.  I never knew that before we got blessed with our own angels.  I really never knew--but I'm so glad God knew that we needed them--a little piece of heaven on earth.  I cannot even begin to tell you the joy they have brought into our family.

~~~  Praying for the many families who have children waiting in Kyrgyzstan.  Like our friends.  Years have passed and still they have not been allowed to get their kids out.  Adoptions have come to a grinding halt in that country. I cannot even imagine the long and agonizing wait they have all had. They need a miracle. We know God is able.
~~~  Started planning, thinking about, designing, creating, and shopping for my birthday present. Fun! It going to be excellent.  I can't wait.  I did say, "Only one." But then I changed my mind.  Ha.  I'll keep you guessing.

That's the end of my totally random thoughts for one night.

Night-night.  Or, as Harper says when she's tired, "doo-doo's" (as she looks longingly up at her bedroom).

21 sweet thoughts from friends:

I just had to laugh when I read your comment about the cold. We are in snowy cold WI and even before the snow ever fell, I was ready for summer again. I am so not a wintery kind of girl. I can't wait to see more pics of the kids. How about a blog post dedicated to the 2 older girls? They are so beautiful, well all of your kids are beautiful. How are they doing with school, having their sisters home, etc?

Enjoyed your random thoughts. I should be writing a few of my own...it has been such a long time since my last post. So glad you are soaking up the time with your babies cause they grow up so darn fast. Kate turns 4 at the end of the month. Boo!
We should both be in bed:)

I think every homeschool mom wonders about whether their teaching their children enough :) Just make sure you´re children are learning course material approtriate to their age and that they also learn outside of the book. I´d consider knowledge of different cultures and countries of the world a crucial factor. In this day and age when predjudice is so common it´s very important to have knowledge about other countries and culture in the world and have respect for them. And I say this is a person that comes from a country so tiny and obscure that most people believe we live in igloos, have polar bears as pets and eat fish only :) So educating children about other countries and cultures is crucial in my opinion and you seem to be doing a brilliant job of it. You´re whole family comes from four continents!

I think the Lord is stirring many hearts, and Aslan is certainly "on the move" :)
I've had many issues on my heart for years and the Lord finally prompted me to share these thoughts myself. I'm not sure why now, but the Lord must have a Master Plan by moving everyone right now...

doo-doos? too cute! while I have not formally started home schooling, it's a concern I have as well. am I going to do right by then and glorify God in the process? God will be faithful.

Great stuff - random thougths are good - in particular when we listen to them....in random thoughts lies greatness.....

And you know when you are educating your children enough when what you teach them causes them to ask questions or understand what lies 'beyond' what you just taught....Go rent / buy / download the first Star Trek movie....Vger (Voyager VI) travels the universe and learns everything but is still left with a question - "Is there nothing more?" and that's true evidence of education! (It's also 'classic' star trek stuff if you are a fan - but there's a lot of good thoughts in good sci fi!!)

Get that mug of hot chocolate and wrap your cold fingers around that mug and enjoy with your PB&J Sandwich. You REALLY CAN embrace winter my warm-weather friend!

I can just hear Harper saying "doo-doos"! So precious!

So, I have your b-day on my calendar but didn't realize this was the big 4-0 coming up! Definitely plan something big and creative and fun and then make sure I'm invited! hahahahah

The PB-J thing got me smiling.

But the biggest smile came when you mentioned Hailee. Oh, how I loved hearing about her being more playful :) Can't wait to see more pics of her and how she is changing before our very eyes :)

All praise to our Saviour for making this possible!

I was looking at the adoptions that RR has helped facilitate over the last 5 years, and those numbers have more than doubled each year. God is so totally on the move!

Haha, your sweet Harper speaks French, child-French :-) She sure is a talented girl! "Faire do-do" is go to sleep if you talk to a little French child :-) (I used to baby-sit one when I was young). Too funny!

Oh my goodness, Milena, I did not know that :) In South Africa we use the expression to tell kids it's bedtime. But I never knew where it came from. So funny how we borrow words from all over the world without even knowing it.

Love my little French/Ukrainian/Russian/American girl.

I don't know that I've ever posted a comment before, but I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy reading your blog. Your family is truly inspiring to me and I have a lot of respect for you and your husband.

I have always loved working with and being around children with special needs. I grew up with a close friend who has a brother with Down syndrome. When I first dived into "bloggy world," adoption was something that I had thought about before but never really considered. After just a few days of reading the blogs of so many different adoptive families, I realized that I too felt called to adopt. Your family was the first one I came across who had adopted special needs children. You opened my eyes to the plight that these precious children face in eastern Europe (and everywhere else) and I cannot thank you enough for that. Thanks to your family I am now looking into Reece's Rainbow and how to get started in the adoption process.

I can't wait to see new pictures of Hailee. She is so precious!

So people in "real life" are mean!? It is easy for people to be mean hiding behind a computer, I can't imagine them being mean in person!
I was going back reading some of your posts. I clicked on and read your post about your husbands proposal and marriage. It sounded like a fairytale! :>) What was really funny is that I told my daughter that his face in the first modeling picture looked so familiar! My husband said, "He probably hung on your wall when you were a teenager!" :>)

You are so right about children with Down Syndrome. Our son has DS and they are like angels. I wish more people could understand the blessing that DS is for everyone in their family!
