twenty two and counting

Oh my goodness.  Every pound that this angel grows is a reason to celebrate in our home.  We totally do the happy dance when Hailee gains weight.  Every pound of weight added to her tiny little body is a blessing.

This morning she weighed in at a whopping 22 pounds.  That’s six pounds heavier than she was when she came home.  Amazing for our sweetie who will be six years old in May.

Hailee is our unfolding miracle.  Our breath of heaven.

She has astounded us in how far she has come.

From this…

To this…

In just nine months.

There are no words.

Grow, Hailee, grow.  We are so very proud of you.  We love you like crazy.  How much richer our lives are since you came home.  You have taught us much.

So deeply in love.

To God be the glory…GREAT things He has done!

    Hey Adeye,
I just put up a recipe on my blog for red velvet whoopie pies…that’ll be a scrumptious way to put some pounds on that sweet girl of yours. Love her, every little ounce.

    Love finds a way,

My goodness, what an incredible difference! The contrast between those two photos is just breathtaking. And in only 9 months?!?! Wow!

It’s also incredibly heartbreaking…to think of what would have become of her had you ignored God’s nudge.

She is incredibly beautiful. That gorgeous hair makes her look so ethereal.

Just dancing in the kitchen with Gracie in my arms as I was cooking dinner tonight singing, “There is no God like our God!” Truly only He could orchestrate what is transforming in our households!!!

    Way to go beautiful Hailee!!!

I am new to your blog (followed a link here from Kelly’s Korner). What an inspirational and beautiful story God is weaving through the lives of your family!
I read your previous post with the list of comments strangers make when you’re at the store with your seven kids. I have a friend who is a foster mom to three kids (all of different ethnicities) and she also gets strange looks and comments when she is out with her crew. When people say to her, “You’ve sure got your hands full!”, she responds by smiling and saying, “Better than empty”. Thought I’d share that with you. Might be a great response for you to use next time you hear that comment! ;)

Happy dancing with you! Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when you look at your children and are just overwhelmed with the love you have for them….regardless of whether they are bio or adopted because God put them right there in our hearts to love and in our lives to hold. Praises!!!!!!

That Hailee is nothing short of a miracle! Someone who is new to your blog might even think that’s not the same child in those two photos - her transformation is so very amazing, in such a short time. Thank you so much for sharing her story - we are cheering her on from here in Louisiana!

    All the best,
