Thank you to all of you who have helped us to rally for sweet Mabel this week. No words can ever express our gratitude! Such an outpouring of love for a precious girl who deserves every opportunity under heaven and earth to become all who God has created her to be.
Yesterday we received a $5000 MATCHING GRANT for Mabel’s adoption!
If we can raise it, that would give the Sykes family $10,000 toward bringing Mabel home and make them a whole lot closer to being fully funded. What a gift from heaven!
Right now, prayerfully, it looks like they may leave this weekend to travel to Uganda. Everything there is being expedited and Mabel could be coming home very soon (please, God!). Every day matters when the heart is failing. Every single day matters, friends. This young lady cannot get home one day too soon.
A friend in Uganda shared this update today, “I am in Uganda with her and get to see her everyday, so what Lynsay is saying is the truth (in regards to a post about Mabel being critically ill.) Please Support the family that has accepted to adopt her. It is a miracle that she is still surviving today. May God bless you big! Mabel has a smile on her face today, and the severe leg swelling and abdominal swelling has reduced however she is still very ill. After conferences with her doctors it was decided that she cannot be discharged until she can fly to the US. Today she had her nails done, and tomorrow will get her hair braided, we are hoping that we can keep that smile on her face so that she can enjoy being a teen instead of having the weight of the world on her shoulders.”
