I LOVE new beginnings! I love change---and all that comes with it. I love the beginning of a new year. There is a newness about it---an opportunity to kind of start all over again. Today is a new beginning. This new year, I am being purposeful to reflect on the year ahead. For me, it is so easy to get caught up in the busyness of day-to-day life, that I forget to live my life with PURPOSE! I … [Read more...]
A Blessed time
Praying that you had a blessed Christmas. Our morning began with our kids reading a note from their favorite yearly visitor, Hubert. Every Christmas Eve, when all the kids are in bed, we wrap the presents and put them under the tree. Then Anthony takes a picture and Photoshops Hubert into the picture. We print it out and leave it next to the presents with a note from Hubert for the kids to … [Read more...]
From our home to yours
As I ponder the birth of our Savior this Christmas, I am so overwhelmed by the LOVE that Jesus has for each one of us. I mean EXTRAVAGANT LOVE. Love that my human mind cannot fathom. How high, how wide and how deep is His love for each and every one of us. Merry Christmas, precious friends and family. Praying that your homes are filled with His JOY this season. May the Kings of Kings be the … [Read more...]
Christmas fun

It's snow all the way.My friend, Elizabeth, sent our kids the coolest craft thingy---popcorn balls to decorate with more candy than any kid can accumulate at Halloween. Fun! The kids had a … [Read more...]
Thankful!
Happy Thanksgiving, precious friends and family! I must say, it is one American holiday that I really love. It makes me pause, reflect and ponder on the things that I am so grateful for in this life. And---I'm getting better....we have lived in the USA for 4 1/2 years now. The first year my kids asked me "Mom, what is Thanksgiving about?", the only answer I had was "I have no idea, I guess it … [Read more...]
Haven learns how to blow out candles

Every time she tried, she spat all over the cake :) Cade thought it was hilarious, as you can hear on the video. She tried and tried....eventually mom blew them out for her (hoping that she thought she had done it herself :) ). It was too cute.Anthony apologizes for the video … [Read more...]
Haven turns 8!
Today we celebrated Haven's birthday. What a blessing that she is home on her birthday, probably the first one she has ever celebrated. Her orphanage did not celebrate birthdays. We brought out her presents and she had absolutely no idea what to do with them...thankfully she had four other very willing little helpers on hand to help :) She absolutely loves music and dancing in front of a … [Read more...]
Blessings along the way
After months of planning and trying to keep a secret....my Dad arrived yesterday. We drove up to Denver to pick him up. The kids were convinced we were going to pick up an old friend of Anthonys, coming from Sweden. I felt so bad fibbing...but it was soooooo worth it :). The look on their faces when he walked through the doors was priceless, something I will remember for the rest of my life. … [Read more...]
