because He said so

“Why would you even consider taking your family back to Africa when your children have so many more opportunities here in the States?”

Why?

Because there is so much more inside of us to give.

Because there is so much more we’re aching to do with this one life we’ve been given on earth.

Because there are dreams and passions that GOD has burned in our hearts.

And because there is no place in the world that we would rather be…

…than right here.

I miss my little friends in this place more than words can say and absolutely cannot wait to get back.

But mainly…because He said so. And that is enough for us.

And our children feel the same way.

I cannot think of a greater opportunity than allowing our precious children to learn what it means to pour their lives out for the sake of those who need it most. To sacrifice. To give. To love. To learn. To get uncomfortable. To have their hearts broken for the things that break God’s heart.

We’re giving God EVERYTHING we have and following Him no matter where He leads us, no matter what He asks us to do.

WE’RE ALL IN!

We’re so grateful for all the support so far. If you would love to be a part of what GOD is sending us back to Africa to do, we would be so very blessed. Go HERE. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

I am not an international person, and I have wondered if by adopting our daughter we have closed the door to overseas missions. Obviously you are confident in the care that Hasya will be able to receive in South Africa; do you anticipate returning to the US for any procedures? What other countries would you consider to be appropriate places for a medically fragile child to live?

No, SA still has excellent medical care. She will be very well taken care of there. It’s a very interesting country, actually. A mix of First World and extreme poverty all rolled into one. Our kids will have everything there that they have here. As for other countries, it depends where your heart is. Some Third World countries still have excellent care. With medically fragile children I would just do research. One of my dearest friends and her family are missionaries in Guatemala. They get good care there too.

Thank you, thank you! We will see where God takes us. It is encouraging to see him work in your family and to know that he works in our family too!

Hi Adeye, I’ve followed your blog for the past few years and are thrilled you will be coming to our beautiful country with your precious family. I live in Cape Town. My husband and I were emergency “kangaroo” parents for a few years before adopting the 14th babe placed with us. I am now pregnant with our second son. If I’m ever in PE or you’re in Cape Town, it would be amazing to connect. We have quite an active adoptive community here, which is awesome. We’ll be praying for you as you prep for your big move x
